This Privacy Policy describes how Masuka Junior School ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Masuka Junior School Learning App (the "App"), available on Android via Google Play.

2. Who Uses This App

The App is designed for use by:

• Students – children enrolled in ECD A and ECD B classes at Masuka Junior School.
• Teachers – school staff who manage lessons and track student progress.
• Administrators – school management staff.

Because the App is used by young children, access is controlled exclusively by the school. Student accounts are created and managed by teachers or administrators — children do not register themselves. Parents or guardians must provide consent to the school before a child's account is created.

3. Information We Collect

Information provided by the school

• Student first name and class (ECD A or ECD B)
• Teacher name and email address
• Administrator name and email address
• Login credentials (username and password, stored securely)

Information generated through use of the App

• Lesson progress and completion records
• Assessment scores and grades submitted by teachers
• Media files (drawings, photos, or videos) uploaded as student submissions

Information we do NOT collect

• We do not collect precise location data
• We do not collect device contacts, microphone audio (outside of submitted content), or camera data beyond what a user intentionally uploads
• We do not serve third-party advertisements
• We do not use tracking or analytics SDKs that profile individual users

4. How We Use Information

Information collected is used solely for:

• Authenticating users and providing access to the App
• Displaying lessons, progress, and grades to students and teachers
• Allowing teachers to record and review student assessments
• School administration and record-keeping

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

5. Children's Privacy

We take the privacy of children very seriously. The App is a closed, school-managed platform. Student data is:

• Only accessible to the child's own teacher and school administrators
• Never shared with third-party advertisers or data brokers
• Only created after parental or guardian consent is given to the school

Parents or guardians who wish to review, correct, or request deletion of their child's data should contact the school directly at suarezmudimu@gmail.com.

6. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud infrastructure provider with industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Uploaded files (images, videos) are stored in a private, access-controlled cloud storage bucket.

Access to the App requires a username and password. We recommend teachers and administrators use strong, unique passwords.

7. Data Retention

Student records are retained for the duration of a child's enrolment at the school. Upon request from the school or a parent/guardian, we will delete a student's data within 30 days.

8. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

• Supabase – cloud database and file storage (supabase.com/privacy)
• Render – API server hosting (render.com/privacy)
• YouTube – embedded educational video content (viewed, not tracked) (policies.google.com/privacy)

No advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or social media tracking libraries are included in the App.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
